➢How many splashes can I register for at an event?

Great news….. Beginning in the 2024 Season, you can register for ALL the splashes that are offered at that event. We ask that you not enter more than one event on the same day, but please register for the splashes that are best for you and the fitness level of your dog.

➢I earned a ribbon at my last event but forgot to pick it up, what can I do?

No worries…. Although NADD requires you to collect your ribbon at the event where you earned it, we understand that it may slip your mind. We recommend contacting the mobile dock or facility that hosted the event, as they can help you arrange to collect it at one of their future events. It's a good idea to check your portal for accurate scores and earned titles before leaving an event, as it's the most convenient time to make any necessary adjustments.

➢My dog earned a title and I’d like to submit it to AKC to be recognized, what is the process?

Congratulations on your title! Once you see the title in your portal or in an email, click on the “my dogs” tab, select the dog, click on the “titles” tab, scroll down to the title that is earned and hit the print copy button.
Once you have a copy of your NADD title certificate, you can follow the instructions on the AKC page to submit for recognition.

➢I need to change my dogs pre-registration for an event, what is the process to avoid a No Show?

Life happens, and we understand that sometimes you need to withdraw from an event after the allowable date to do so. Here are your options for withdrawal…

  1.  Please let the facility or mobile dock know directly that you are unable to make it, and if you have a valid vet or doctors note stating the dates of the event, please include it with your email. This will allow them to remove your no show once the event has closed, as well as plan their event with the correct number of splashes still available.
  2. If you already have one or two no shows on your account, and are unable to produce a valid vet or doctor’s note, you can elect to pay for your splashes and receive a “no jump”  as your scores for those splashes. This will keep you from getting the no show and will not affect your recent or seasonal average.
  3. If you just had a change of plans (this happens, we get it), understand that you will receive a no show per dog entered, but that is ok, you are allowed three per year before you can no longer pre-register. Just reach out to the facility or mobile dock to let them you will be unable to attend and will be taking the no show.

Lastly, if you have a no show that is at least a year old, you can send an email to ops@northamericadivingdogs.com to ask that it be removed one per year.

➢I would like to plan to go to Regionals and Nationals this year how do I qualify and where do I find that information!

You have become a NADDact and we love it! You can qualify for Regionals in a few ways. (Need minimum number of discipline splashes to accept an invite. 15 distance, 5 AR, 5 HD)

  1. Earn an Advanced or Excellent title in the 2024 season in any discipline.
  2. Place in the top 3 at a 2024 Qualifier event.
    a. It can take up to 14 days after the event closes to process Qualifier invites.
  3. Placed in the top 3 at a 2023 Regionals.

Nationals is a bit more work and we love to see all the best of the best at our National Championship event. You can qualify for Nationals a few ways.

  1. Place top 3 at last year’s National competition, but still need to attend a Regionals.
  2. Place top 3 in this year’s Regional competition.
  3. Place top 20% overall from the 2024 regionals per division.
  4. Place top 5 in this year’s LCQ (don’t need to attend a Regionals but must have minimum number of splashes in the 2024 season to accept the invite)
  5. Place top 5 from last year’s FCQ, that was held the day after Nationals in October 2023.

As we get closer to the events you will be able to find information for Regionals and Nationals on the NADD Website or on the Nationals Facebook group.  If there are any discrepancies pertaining to rules or procedures for Regionals or Nationals the final authority is the information posted on the NADD website.

➢  How do I know which bumper an event is using before I register or attend?

The 2024 Season is a year of transition for the bumper for us. Don’t worry, our facilities will have it posted in their event description which bumper they are using for AR and HD. The mobile docks will all be using the NADD/Atlas bumper in open and lap sizes, and those will be the bumpers used this year for both Regionals and Nationals. If you have a lap dog competing in AR/HD and attend an event that is using the NADD/Atlas bumper, you must use the lap size bumper.
